The Cook County Department of Public Health offers FREE lead hazard assessment and removal to qualifying residents in Cook County. To qualify, you must:

- Live in Cook County

- Be over 18 years of age

- Live in a home or apartment built before 1978

- Meet income qualifications

Next Move offers free educational workshops to schools, daycares, and parent groups. 

Workshops review topics such as:

- Where lead is found

- Recent toy and food recalls

- Signs of lead exposure

- How to prevent exposure

- Preventative resources

Every other month, Next Move hosts a coffee hour for mothers living in the south suburbs. Events are catered by Bean Me Up Roastery and Cafe and gives moms a chance to connect and make friends with other moms in the area. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to find out when the next event is. Children are welcome!

We currently have a variety of sizes and styles children's coats available for pickup in our office. Please call, email or text us to inquire if we have the sizes you need!

In 2022, Next Move was awarded a planning grant by the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority to create a workforce development program based in the South Suburbs of Chicago. Since our award, we have been working on collaborating with community members, business owners, students, parents, and other community-based organizations to develop a comprehensive and meaningful program.
